We are excited to serve everyone referred under the new Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Voucher Program introduced by Island Health Authority starting from December 1, 2022.
We want to assure everyone that our team of Physiotherapists and Administrative Staff shall try their optimum to ensure a smooth journey after your surgery.
Our team comprehends how important this decision has been in your life and shall love to assist you achieve optimal quality of life and functions.
What to Expect when I make the first phone call?
During the initial few weeks, we may be able to take your information and have our office manager call you and explain about our initial intake form and help you book in with our therapist to smoothen the process.
If we are unable to answer your phone, please leave us a voicemail with your name, phone number and time of the call so we can get back to you as soon as we can.
What to expect during the first appointment?
Our Physiotherapist shall be able to assess you and guide you with your journey to recovery during this assessment/education session. Please bring in your questions so that our physiotherapist can help you with them and help formulate a plan of care.
What if I have questions after the appointment?
Please note that you are more than welcome to take contact card of the physiotherapist you saw at our centre and feel free to email with your questions as there may be a lot of information in the first session given to you from our therapist and it may be difficult to take everything in.
Is there any parking?
There is ample parking available.
How many appointments do I get if I had a hip/knee replacement for Physiotherapy?
You are covered by Restorative Health -Island Health for following:
- Total Hip Arthroplasty – 3 visits
- Total Knee Arthroplasty – 12 visits
What if I need more visits?
Please talk to your physiotherapist as they can direct you back to the surgeon or the hospital for further care.
What to expect during the follow up appointments?
You therapist shall be able to re-evaluate you as well as guide you with various forms of exercises and posture/gait training to help you recover and achieve your goal safely.
